Faro Airport
is located in the Algarve, four kilometres from the city center, which opened on 11 July 1965. Millions of passengers, especially during their holidays arrive and depart each year. The airport, the second most important of the country, has witnessed an increase of operations, as result of the very widespread and commonplace links low cost as well as increasing their influence on the south-western peninsula. To meet the increasing traffic, the airport has been significantly enlarged and modernized in recent years. Traffic 2007 reached 5.5 million passengers Faro ranks in the second place among the Portuguese airports just after Lisbon Airport. Albufeira - is a Portuguese city in the district of Faro, Algarve region. The population expands significantly in the summer, as Albufeira is one of the leading tourist resorts of the region. Facilities include a marina, golf courses plus innumerable hotels, apartment blocks, restaurants and bars, for the annual flood of visitors. The name "Albufeira" is of Arabic origin "Albuheira" and means in Arabic "lagoon", and in Portuguese, "reservoir". The nightlife on "The Strip", near Montechoro just outside Albufeira, it's very popular during the summer and in particular for the younger tourists. In the "The Strip", the most popular bars are La Bamba, the Erin's Isle, the Linekers, the Reno's, Cafe Del Mar, the Mustang, Garage, the BJ's, and Wild Co. The Kiss and Kadoc are very popular, this last one is situated 7 miles away between Albufeira and Vilamoura near Boliqueme.
Alvor is a fishing Portuguese village of Portimão county. The Alvor area covers 15.25 km² with 4977 inhabitants, numbers of 2001, Density: 326.3 inhabitants per km ². It borders with the following parishes: Mexilhoeira Grande, Portimão and Odiáxere (Lagos County). Land of fishing and maritime tradition, deeply religious, marked by the Church, from which highlights its main entrance of "Manuelino's" style decorative, has always been subject to the misfortunes of drudgery and misery of the sea. Today, alongside the nature of fishing craft, catering, trade and tourism are the main economic activities. Alvor is well known for its beaches and its fishing village near the river mouth. Here died, in 25 October of 1495, D. John II King of Portugal. Shortly afterwards D. Manuel amounted to the village head of the county, a status that would lost on the beginning of century. The small town was made only by the village and had, in 1801, 1 288 inhabitants. It is customary to hear the Portuguese visitors or outsiders call "The Alvor" to the village where the designation "The Alvor" refers to the river with the same name. For someone refer to Alvor, simply must indicate Alvor or village of Alvor. The name of this village, contrary to what we might think, it does not dawn, the sunrise, but fortress, castle, deriving from the Arabic al-burdj. Currently, its main industry is tourism.

Portimão and Praia da Rocha: was a pre-historic village, Phoenician, Greek and Carthaginian trading place. With the Romans it was well known because of its excellent harbor. As Silves and Alvor, Portimão was a small fishing town that in 1290 the Knights of the Order of Santiago won the Muslims.
In 1453 the place raised to the category of village. With the construction of strong S. John in Ferragudo and Santa Catarina, Praia da Rocha, the town of Portimão has resistance to the constant attacks of pirates and corsairs. With the canning industry, the old town, revived again, making it one of major fishing ports of Portugal. In 1924 received the category of city. Already in late XIX Century some beachgoers was staying in homes and farms surrounding the coast where the great attraction was Praia da Rocha and Praia de Santa Catarina.
In 1910, to Aug. 1, opens the Casino of Praia da Rocha, a symptom of the growing influx of people to this resort, marking a phase of continuous improvements here will attract the aristocracy of the South Country and Andalusia. The place fills up with houses and chalets which accommodate the tourists.
The first hotel being built was the Hotel Viola of first decade of the XX Century, but not enough for the demand of tourists is enlarged in 1932. In 1936 was built the Hotel Bela-Vista (Closed at the moment).

Lagos is a Portuguese city in the district of Faro Algarve.
Lagos is mostly identified by the city of the discovery's, as it was from this city that the Portuguese discovery's made its start point, after the conquering of Ceuta (Spanish at the moment), in August of 1415
It was founded and named as Laccobriga or Lacóbriga in 2000 BC, by the "Cynetes" but was a place conquered by Carthaginians, Romans, barbarians, Muslims and finally conquered by the Christians in 1241.
Lagos as the most part of the places in Algarve, since very ancient times due its activity, to the see and the fishing but is after 1960, that Lagos so its bigger development, with the turism.
Lagos was a lovely city with many monuments, but the earthquake and the Tsunami of 1755 destroyed the most part of them. At the moment we still can see the rebuilt city walls from the 16th century, the governor's castle from the 17th and a archor building, believed, has the first slave marcket in Europe, called it self "Slave Market".
Other monoments to be seen in Lagos, is the Santo António Church, dated of 1715 and the Sao Sebastiao Church (Old Church of Nossa Senhora da Conceição) , Ponta da Bandeira Fort and Meia Praia Fort.
